Hi, I'm Gavin McGinney, and I make ExamQ.
ExamQ started while I was studying for the GIAC GSLC security leadership exam. I wanted a faster way to revise in the few spare minutes I actually had, without sitting down for an hour. That's still the idea: Q means Quick.
I hold the CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC and CSPO certifications, so I know what revising for a hard exam is like. I've also trained colleagues in information security and project management.
I've been making iPhone apps since around 2013. Anuloma Viloma Timer, a breathing exercise timer, has been on the App Store since 2015 and is still updated. Ching Ching, a finance tracking app, launched in 2022 and is rated 4.7 out of 5 by its US users (as of October 2026).
ExamQ is independent. It isn't affiliated with any exam's owner or awarding body. If a card is wrong, tap Report in the app or email support@examq.app and I'll fix it.
